The End of the Boring and the Start of the FUN!

Well, tonight is my last night of work at the good ol' Beech Mountain Club. The Club is closing for the season, which means it's only a matter of weeks before Beech Mountain Resort opens and I'm once again snowboarding every day! :D

I'm SO excited. I'm getting the new board I want (Smokin' Vixen) and hopefully going to look at a new car next weekend. It's an '08 Subaru Impreza WRX. It's so pretty... and practical. The 4Runner just eats up too much gas. Subaru's were made for me. I just hope they don't sell the car before I can get to it.

It's gonna be an epic winter, and I'm freakin' PUMPED!

Bring on the snow!

Oh, and I'm getting my snowflake tat in a couple weeks! Yay!

Happy Shredding
XOXO

2011 Seattle Downtown Throwdown

Here's YoBeat's video for the 2011 Seattle Downtown Throwdown

Pretty decent action going on. Looked like a fun set-up.
Kinda bummed that I didn't see any girl footy, if any even
entered it, which I'm sure a few did. Not even a girl division. Lame.

Anyways, check it out.

Beech Mountain to Host Snowshoe Championships!

Into snowshoeing? Ever tried it? I haven't, but this 5k and 10k race sounds fun! Here's the article from the Mountain Times:

Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation Department announces that the U.S. Snowshoe Association has chosen Beech Mountain as the host location for the North Carolina State Snowshoe Championships.

Endurance athletes from across the Middle Atlantic states are invited to North Carolina’s first snowshoe race in the terrain that Beech Mountain has to offer. This event will serve as a qualifier race so that USSSA members can earn the right to compete at the 2012 U.S. National Snowshoe Championships in Frisco, Colo., Feb. 24 through Feb. 26.

The North Carolina State Snowshoe Championships events will take place as part of the Beech Mountain Resort Winterfest weekend. Events will include a 5K race with recreational and competitive categories, a 10K competitive state championship race and a kid’s snowshoe scramble. Previous experience is not necessary to participate and free snowshoe loaners will be available.

For more information regarding the USSSA, contact Mark Elmore, the USSSA sports director at (518) 420-6961 or via email at (usssasnowshoeguy@gmail.com)

You can also contact Brie Powell, program coordinator for the Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation Department, at (828) 387-3003 or via email at (bpowell@townofbeechmountain.com) for information regarding the weekend’s events.

October SNOW!

Wow. It's been way too long since I've updated.

A lot of stuff has been going on though.

On Sat, October 1st, it SNOWED!
Well, not much, but enough to get me pumped even more for the season. We only got a half inch, but man oh man was it good to see that white stuff coming down again. Hopefully we'll get a good snowfall soon!

Also, last weekend was the USA Cycling Mountain Bike Gravity National Championships here at Beech Mountain Resort. The event was super fun. Although the Brew's N View's beer tasting tent almost got the best of me, I did manage to get a few pics that I will post up in a bit. Gotta run for now.

* Peace <3 Snowflakes *
